Alzheimer’s Impact Movement Forum

Last week, Kim went to Washington DC to the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement Forum where she and 1,000 other advocates got prepared to turn Capitol Hill purple. Kim and the NH team of advocates met with staff from the offices of all four federal legislators – Senators Shaheen & Hassan and Representatives Pappas and Kuster – to discuss AIM’s federal priorities for 2024. These priorities include the reauthorization of NAPA, AAIA, and BOLD, increased research funding for Alzheimer’s at NIH and a new law called the AADAPT Act. This act aims to educate primary care physician’s on Alzheimer’s and other dementias so they can make earlier diagnoses and treat those suffering from the disease with more dignity. With the NH team, were two advocates living with the disease and their stories are powerful!
